EKO-MAG-MICRO

Magnetic Dirt Separator Filter

EKOM Magnetni izločevalec delcev .jpg

FUNCTION

The magnetic dirt separator is an excellent solution to address various system issues caused by impurities in the water (especially rust and sand), which form due to corrosion and scaling during normal operation of a heating system. The filter provides continuous protection for the boiler by preventing the circulation of these microparticles in the system, thereby preserving sensitive components such as the circulation pump and heat exchanger. It should be installed on the return circuit, at the boiler inlet. Thanks to its versatile installation options, it can be mounted horizontally or vertically, making it suitable even for tight spaces like kitchen cabinets.

OPERATING CONDITIONS

  • Compatible fluids: Water, water + glycol mixtures

  • Operating pressure: 6 bar

  • Operating temperature: 4–90 °C

⚠️ INSTALLATION WARNINGS

  • The filter must be installed by a qualified technician.

  • Carefully read the "Installation, Use, and Maintenance Manual" before installation and keep it near the filter.

  • Before installation or maintenance, ensure the circuit is isolated.

  • Install the filter on the return circuit, at the boiler inlet.

  • Ensure adequate access for future maintenance or repairs.

  • Make sure the system is properly built before proceeding with installation.

  • If pressure exceeds 3 bar, install a pressure reducer upstream of the filter.

  • If water hammer is present, install an expansion damping vessel downstream of the filter.

  • Use only original spare parts.

Plastic and brass water filters and components of these materials which come into contact with drinking water shall be manufactured in accordance with Directive 80/778 / EEC for consumption and production procedure. Filter cartridges for mechanical cleaning are manufactured according to EU standards, EEC 80/778.

Technical Specifications

  • Connections: 3/4" internal/external thread (G)

  • Maximum operating pressure: 8 bar

  • Temperature range: 5 °C to 90 °C

  • Filtration level: 500 µm (washable stainless steel mesh)

  • Magnetic induction: up to 12,000 Gauss

  • Permitted medium: water or glycol mixtures up to 30%

  • Housing and head: reinforced techno-polymer

  • Installation options: vertical or horizontal, inline or at 90° angle

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

  • It is recommended to install the filter on the return circuit, at the boiler inlet. The filter has three G 3/4 threaded ports, allowing various installation configurations:

  • Straight inlet/outlet with vertical filter

  • Straight inlet/outlet with horizontal filter

  • 90° inlet/outlet with vertical filter

  • 90° inlet/outlet with horizontal filter Choose the most suitable configuration for your system and use the threaded cap to seal the unused third port.

MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS

  • Remove the magnet from the magnet holder cap.

  • Unscrew the lower or upper drain cap, depending on how the filter was installed, and let the water flow out.

  • Remove the filter mesh and rinse it under running water to eliminate any remaining impurities.

  • Before reassembling the filter, check the condition of the O-ring; if necessary, replace it with a new one.
